Kodogou: Bazironde goes where no one else goes — and that’s all that matters

Kodogou. Few people know this name. Few people make the journey here. But Bazironde came.

In rural communities, being forgotten is a daily wound. The roads are long. Resources are scarce. And kind eyes are even rarer. So when a team arrives with food and respect, something happens.

The Kodogou Chiefdom opened its doors. The chief came out to meet the volunteers. His handshake was firm. His gaze, grateful. Before his assembled people, he spoke. He thanked Bazironde. He thanked Muslim Aid Australia. With simple words. True words. Words that came from the heart, not from protocol.

Then the distribution began. In the serenity of the chiefdom. Rice, flour, sugar, oil, sardines, beans. Each package carefully handed out. Each family received with respect. Here, we don’t distribute. We give. And the difference is immense.

Kodogou touched the Bazironde teams deeply. The purity of the welcome. The quiet dignity of the people. This faith that isn’t spoken, but lived. It’s for moments like these that Bazironde exists.

« We’re not a big city. But we have great dignity. Bazironde came, and we felt that we were worth as much as people from big cities. »
— The Chief of the Kodogou Chiefdom, February 2026
